Desktop Browsers
Google Chrome (Windows, macOS) - Preferred
Open Attend in a new tab.
Click the Lock Icon in the address bar on the left side of the URL.
In the dropdown menu, locate “Microphone” settings.
Select “Allow” from the dropdown options.
Refresh the page for changes to take effect.
Alternate Method via Chrome Settings
Click the three-dot menu (top-right corner) and select Settings.
Navigate to Privacy and security > Site Settings.
Scroll down to Permissions and select Microphone.
Confirm that your microphone is set as Default, and Attend (
https://[your-workspace].attend.health/
) is allowed.
Mozilla Firefox (Windows, macOS)
Open Attend and start or attempt to start a recording.
Firefox will display a pop-up asking for microphone access.
Choose “Allow” to grant permission.
If you want Firefox to remember your preference, check the box “Remember this decision.”
How to Manage Permissions Later
Click the Lock Icon on the left of the URL bar.
Next to Microphone, select “Allow”.
Refresh the page for the new setting to take effect.
Microsoft Edge (Windows)
Open Attend in Edge.
Click the Lock Icon on the left side of the address bar.
From the dropdown, go to Permissions and locate Microphone.
Select “Allow” from the options.
Refresh the page if necessary.
Alternate Method via Edge Settings
Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select Settings.
Choose Cookies and site permissions.
Scroll down to Site permissions > Microphone.
Ensure the correct microphone is selected, and that Attend's address is allowed.
Safari (macOS)
Open Safari and navigate to the Attend web app.
Click Safari in the menu bar and select Settings (or Preferences).
Go to the Websites tab, then select Microphone from the left panel.
Locate your Attend URL in the list, and select Allow from the dropdown.
If your URL isn’t listed, begin a recording in Attend, and Safari will prompt you to grant access. Choose Allow.
Mobile Browsers
Safari (iOS)
Open the Settings App on your iPhone or iPad.
Scroll down and tap Safari.
Tap Camera & Microphone Access (on some devices, this may be under “Privacy & Security” or a similar label).
Make sure “Ask” or “Allow” is selected for microphone.
Open Attend in Safari. If prompted, tap Allow when asked for microphone access.
Tip: If Safari still doesn’t pick up the microphone, ensure that any app-level or system-level microphone restrictions aren’t in place.
Chrome (Android)
Open Chrome on your Android device.
Tap the three-dot menu (top-right corner) and select Settings.
Scroll down to Site settings and tap Microphone.
Toggle the Microphone setting On (if it’s off).
Find your Attend URL under the “Blocked” or “Allowed” list.
If it’s in Blocked, tap it and select Allow.
Return to Attend and attempt to record again.
Common Troubleshooting Steps
Check System Settings: Ensure your device’s microphone isn’t muted or otherwise blocked at the operating system level.
Try a Different Microphone (Desktop): If you have multiple microphones (e.g., built-in mic, external USB mic), use Chrome’s or your OS’s settings to select the correct input device.
