The Elation integration allows you to send clinical notes from Attend directly to your patient charts in Elation and pull relevant patient information from Elation to inform your AI-generated notes. This eliminates manual copy-pasting and creates a seamless workflow between your conversations and documentation.

This article provides an overview of what the integration does, key benefits, and what you need to know to get started.

What the Elation EMR Integration Does

The Attend-Elation integration connects your two systems to streamline clinical documentation:

Send Notes to Elation

  • Automatically deliver completed notes from Attend directly to patient charts in Elation

  • Notes arrive as unsigned drafts, ready for your review and signature

  • Avoid manual copy-pasting between systems

Pull Context from Elation

  • Add patient information from Elation to inform your note generation. For example, you can include a recent health questionnaire or lab report so the information gets included in your note.

  • Access recent encounter notes, lab reports, imaging results, and health profile data.

  • Generate more comprehensive, contextually-aware clinical notes.

Key Benefits

  • Save time: Eliminate repetitive copy-pasting between systems

  • Improve accuracy: Generate notes informed by the patient's complete clinical history

  • Streamline workflow: Stay in your natural documentation flow from conversation to chart

How the Integration is Set Up

⚠️ Important: The Elation integration is set up at the company level in partnership with your administrator and the Attend team. Individual clinicians don't need to configure anything—once set up, you can start using the integration immediately.

Requirements for Your Account

For the integration to work properly, your Attend account must be mapped to your Elation account. This mapping requires:

  1. Matching first and last name in both Attend and Elation

  2. Matching email address in both Attend and Elation

  3. Clinician role in Elation (not an admin role)

If your information doesn't match: Contact [email protected] to update your profile. Our team will help ensure your accounts are properly linked.

High-Level Workflow

Here's how the Elation integration fits into your typical workflow:

Option 1: Generate a Note with Elation Context

  1. Click the new encounter button in the top left of the screen to start a new encounter.

  2. Click the "Add context" button above the "Start Recording" button and select "Add from EHR".

  3. Click "Start Recording" to begin your encounter.

  4. When you're finished, review the AI-generated note that includes insights from the Elation context.

  5. Click the "Send to EHR" button above your note to send it to the patient's chart in Elation.

Option 2: Generate and Send Without Context

  1. Create a new encounter in Attend

  2. Record your patient conversation as above.

  3. Review the AI-generated note.

  4. Click "Send to EHR" and then select the patient from your schedule or search for the patient using the search box.

  5. Click Send to deliver the completed note to the patient's chart in Elation

Both workflows deliver your note as an unsigned draft in Elation, where you can make final edits before signing.

What the Integration Can Do

  • Send clinical notes to Elation as unsigned drafts

  • Add context to your notes using information from Elation

  • Map Attend template sections to specific Elation note fields

  • Support different Elation note types such as the Simple Note, 1 Column H+P, 2 Column H+P, and SOAP note

Current Limitations

  • Currently, this integration cannot send notes to or update existing draft notes started in Elation (creates new notes only)

  • Sending a new note will not update the health profile in Elation.

  • Patient education and visit summaries are not automatically sent to Elation. (These can be manually copied if needed)

Getting Help

If the spelling of your name differs between your Attend account and Elation, or if you are using a different email address, it may be necessary for your administrator to take additional steps to set up the integration. Please contact [email protected] for assistance.
